Always Still the Dawn chronicles the joys and heartbreaks of eight women whose lives are defined by the powerful tension between the contemporary and the mythical, centering on notions of family, addiction, relationships, femininity and ecology.
“All the Ways You Scare Me” and ‘The Ghosts of My House’ are two one-act plays, performed as a double-bill, that are thematically and structurally different from each other. As the first play of the “Contemporary Canadian Plays” series started by Büke Erkoç and Deniz Başar, Always Still the Dawn invites you to the world of women living in a cold and rigid geography, under the violence of an absolute capitalism that erodes the human spirit; in doing so, it invites you to a subtle resistance.

Sözcü (Mouthpiece)
Mouthpiece is a two-person play in which both actors play the same character, Cassandra.
Cassandra is a writer who learns that her mother has just died and has to deal with the funeral preparations; she has to write a farewell speech to be read at the funeral, but she realizes that she has lost the ability to speak and that she has no voice.
Mouthpiece, the second play in the 'Contemporary Canadian Plays' series started by Büke Erkoç and Dr. Deniz Başar, offers a highly interesting example of physical theater and raises important questions about what it means to be a woman in today's Canada, which is advertised as a democratic paradise, no matter how privileged her social status may be.

Dear Shameless Death - DIRMIT
We listen to the struggle of a crowded family migrating from the village to the city through the eyes of Dirmit, the youngest daughter of the family. In the one-room house they are stuck in, they all find their own way in the struggle to hold on to the city. Dirmit, on the other hand, finds ways to cope with the difficulties she faces thanks to her relentless curiosity and resilience. Her mother Atiye, her father Huvat and her brothers, who try to protect her from the city, are frustrated by Dirmit's ways and put obstacles in her way, guided by customs and traditions.
Dirmit is adapted by Hakan Emre Ünal and Nezaket Erden, from Latife Tekin's famous book Sevgili Arsız Ölüm.
